As I return to work today after 3 weeks off with COVID, it seems fitting that today is World Kindness Day.

It is so important to be kind to ourselves as well as others. I have an overwhelming to do list, but can only do one task at a time. Being kind to myself this week has never been more important.

Some of you may think that World Kindness Day seems a bit fluffy, but there is science behind the fluff!

šŸ¤— A Random Act of Kindness per day reduces Stress, Anxiety and Depression and can start a chain reaction of Kindness.

šŸ¤— When you practice kindness, feel good hormones are released in your body, and the person you are kind to.

šŸ¤— Endorphins reduce pain, Serotonin helps you feel relaxed and improves your mood and Oxycontin reduces blood pressure and helps you feel loved.

šŸ¤— If others see you being kind, this can release these hormones for them too and encourage them to be kind, starting a chain reaction!

What are you waiting for. What could you do today?
Help a neighbour with their shopping
Hold open a door at the shop
Message a friend who lives alone
